Page 135 and 136

Advanced Art Class: Okay, so my art today is actually not so advanced! Haha! 



Remember doing leaf rubbings in school? I wanted to take that concept and apply it to a layout! Gather a few leaves, some white printer paper, and a white crayon. (You could also do this with another resist method, like rubber cement or resist ink, but I wanted to go old school!) Lay the leaves under the paper, veins up so that they will give a nice impression. Rub the crayon all over them. 

Use some watercolors or use some mists with a paintbrush dipped in! Paint over the crayon and your image will start to appear!


Cut out the leaves. I love that they curl up just like real leaves!

Having no power really stinks, lucky for me I had some "emergency" page kits prepared and ready to be scrapped for such an emergency.  Will make getting my 200 goal for the year a breeze at the rate JCP&L are going with restoring power.

These were photos from one of our zoo trips.  The building the birds are housed in my old company CMX did the structural design for.  Elements were from a swap I was in.

SYAO week 15
I used:
twine, pinwheel (made it too), 4+ patterned paper and metal pinch tab on my topper.
For technique I used: punches, distressed the edges of the banners, pinwheel and topper.

I used the following manufacturer: my minds eye wild asparagus papers and some scrapps from a dwv pad and not sure what the other paper is. I used KF metal pinch tab (animals), thickers


I made my pinwheel here is the link I used and then I trimmed the wheel for the layout.

This was a NSD challenge on PaperSecrets...to alter alphas for a layout.  I took multi-colored chipboard letters that were left over, and united them by painting them with distress crackle paint and then glimmer misting them.  I actually liked being able to use up some stash for this.

Another shout out goes to Kelley for the swap pieces.  This was from a swap exchange that was submitted with a twist.  Kelley had them all on the white cardstock, but I felt that was too stark and the photomat placement didn't work for my photos, so I pulled it apart and fixed it to work.  I like the layout now.

I double dipped again for this challenge.  First it was the sketch and items for the SYAO week 10...can you believe it...I'm in week 10...I'm shocked...anyway...I used the following: twine, 3+ flowers, 3 patterned papers and chipboard and a border punch...thanks Annette for the punched border, a pif I snagged from her.

My second challenge was the letter G for an ABC challenge...yep..Gingham paper...which I didn't know had a special name...to me it is just a check pattern...what do I know.

A swap I did on IASST.  Love all the cool elements everyone made.  Love that the monkeys cooperated so much at the zoo that I got great photos of them too.

These were all swap elements from one swap that was not a bazzill only swap, hence getting the pieces to work together was more difficult than I like to deal with.

The boys comments to the zoo person was simply Awesome when they got to hold fossils and bones from different reptiles.

Back for another trip to the zoo...one day I will have all the zoo photos from this year scrapped. Shout outs to swappers on Swaps that work for the awesome flamingo pieces. Robin thanks for piffing me the patterened paper...it went well with the flamingo theme and since I hardly scrap flowers...it worked out perfectly.

More zoo photos. While not as playful...very cooperative for photos. You just want to snuggle with them...ok maybe that is just me.

Philadelphia Zoo trip. I could've stayed all day watching the kitties playing. I took soooo many awesome photos this trip. The animals were all so playful. I love my tigers the best though.
