Page 11 and 12

These are photos from 6th grade of Michael doing Intramural soccer at Pine Brook school.  I was on the yearbook committee (for a short period of time) and was friendly with the teacher that she permitted me to come and take photos.  Yeah I took some of the yearbook, most were for my own personal pages.  Part of the page is from a  swap the GOAL transparency I have no clue where I got, but it has been in the drawer way too long, so now it is in the album :)

Here are Michael's PIN shots that were given to me at the banquet (like I didn't already capture that day :) ) upon Michael getting his Varsity Letter (yep, got that on film too)
But I loved the angle the photographer got, it looks quickly like Michael is kissing the guy...nice huh.  Of course upside down it looks the other way around!

OK, so we are back to blogger and photos not cooperating.  GRRRRR.  This was another full page sketch from my swap group done by Pauline.  The layout worked perfectly for Bryan's professional photo from JV wrestling this year and the team photo.

Here is my Home Ec assignment:
Alright students, Mrs. Carr here for Home Ec today!! Get your supplies ready because today we will be "cooking up" some creativity  Below is a list of must-have ingredients for today's class. Your assignment is to create a single or double page layout including the following "recipe":

* fabric
* ribbon
* a stick pin or safety pin
* thread, floss, or twine

I scrapped the boys at the jump rope for Heart event for School and Heart Awareness Day.  I used a fabric flower with a heart brad,red ribbon on the banner, safety pin attached with another heart brad (upper right corner) and twine to look like a jump rope Michael was swinging.  The boys had so much fun that day.

Homework assignment #3: So your assignment for today is to create a layout using a back to school or any school related photo. Here are some more ideas

This was probably my favorite event the school did.  They recreated Immigration Day for the kids.  They all dressed as their ancestors did when they came to America.  Pillowcases instead of suitcases.  They had the hallway in the school be the boat, and had the children do learning activities while they waited to enter the great hall (ok the gym) of Clark Mills School, where they went thru processing, answering questions about their heritage as they went from station to station.  After processing they sat and played cards and waited for their loved ones (classmates) to be processed.  As a group they promised to be a good American and then they celebrated with food brought in from their different heritages.  The day was long, but so glad I got to go and see my two participate in this wonderful event.

The boys first day of school - 2nd grade, as you can tell I don't scrap in order.  This was an overlay that I bought several years ago at an expo or gasc, I don't recall where, but it worked great for this page.

This week's sytycs we had to use a sketch, primary colors, hand stitching, misting and fussy cutting.  Photo is of Bryan in 5th grade when he presented his school project on Neil Armstrong.  He was smart enough to think to use Mark's motorcycle helmet for a space suit helmet.  We cut vinyl letters and attached them (and after presented...removed, Mark didn't want to ride with NASA on his helmet...can't imagine why)

Here is the original challenge: colorfulcreations

Use the sketch below to create a layout. You MUST stay true to the sketch. You MUST use ALL of the following items on your pages:
Hand Stitching
Misting
Fussy cutting (List in the gallery what items you fussy cut)
Use primary colors ONLY (red, yellow, blue, & green)

Week 11 of the SYAO2 contest...and I got it done in time. :)  With vacation, I really didn't think I would make it.  Lucky for me the kids are back in school, and I found some non-rocking time to do it.  So I'm still alive in it.
Here is what I used...plus I used some of my borders that were piffed to me from Annette
PRODUCTS
2 or more tags
3+ flowers
chip-board
3+ patterned papers
TECHNIQUES
punches (border/corner)

plus I used some of my borders that were piffed to me from Annette, and some of my prizes from football swap on IASST.  I love when I can use things...

A quick challenge layout (thanks Annette) for ACOT.  I was going thru the famous junk drawer in the kitchen looking for something, when I came across this adorable photo in a frame of Michael.  It was a magnet frame, and I guess it must have fallen off the refrig...and somebody put it in the drawer.  So...now it is preserved forever in the scrapbook!  Topper is a junkitz item.  CD was handmade for a swap, and the wording was just perfect for this first day of school photo.

elements were from a pif I snagged on Friends_that_scrap yahoo group.

Same concert...our family came to the show and were all so proud of Michael.
Same GASC class...so glad I finally finished the 2 spreads.

Spring Concert 2010.  Michael was given the opportunity to lead the choir on a song that he signed.  I had no idea this was planned, and boy did I cry.  Photos were snapped and are so blurry because I was crying.  Such a proud day.

Layout was from a class I took with Becky in Chantilly, VA GASC 2010.
